Getting Adequate Sleep and Job Performance

Summary: Health and wellness is becoming increasingly important in any workplace. Many people understand the importance of eating healthy and exercising in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Getting adequate sleep is many times overlooked when individuals are working towards improving their health and wellness. The benefits of adequate sleep not only benefit a person’s mental and physical well-being but also their job performance. 

Challenge: 38% of workers experience fatigue while at work. This fatigue affects employees' ability to think clearly and learn new information. Without adequate sleep, individuals aren’t performing at their highest level. 

Solution: After this training, employees understand the benefits that getting adequate sleep has on their physical and mental well-being, as well as job performance. They also learn strategies to improve their sleep hygiene and how to prioritize sleep.   

Results: Employees saw the benefits of getting between 7-9 hours of sleep. They also saw how this increased sleep can not only help them mentally and physically but also in their job performance. They are prepared with tips to implement that evening to begin prioritizing their sleep.
